Timeline

Take a look at our history timeline dating back from 1678 to the present day. The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards inherited the history and the fame of three grand old regiments. This has bestowed upon the Regiment an immensely full and colourful past - more than 300 years of service, campaigns and combat, on foot, on horse and in armour, in most countries. The Regiment is proud of this inheritance and sees itself not only as a very professional military unit but also as a close community. This community incorporates those who are serving and those who have already served and their families, as well as cadets, sons, and candidates for the Regiment who in time will serve. The Regiment matches its proud history and traditions with beautiful possessions, pictures, silver and relics bestowed, captured or earned by its service through the years.  The timeline  shows the highlights of this remarkable history.
