Silver Ship

A large silver ship in full rig, presented by Major John. Crabbie, Royal Scots Greys on leaving the regiment in 1902. Made of German silver by B Muller, late nineteenth century, in the form of a man-of-war or Nef. It was
designed as a wine cistern to dispense wine from the spout in its bow by tilting the whole vessel. This proved rather impractical but it is however, a magnificent piece of decorative silver for which purpose it is used by the regiment today.
