A silver equestrian statuette of eleven inches in height, on a wooden carved base presented to R Currie Esq., Royal Scots Greys, on the occasion of his marriage on 16 May 1916. The silver plaque lists the names of forty one officers who jointly presented this gift made by Hamilton and Inches of Edinburgh.
Background information
The statuette is a miniature copy of the well known War Memorial of The Royal Scots Greys which stands in Princes Street, Edinburgh. The bronze equestrian statue is twelve feet high, representing a trooper of the regiment in full review order of the uniform worn by the Greys in 1899 . It is mounted on a freestone rock pedestal.
