How to find us and the entrance charge
The Museum is located in the New Barracks of Edinburgh Castle.
The Museum is free but there is a fee to enter Edinburgh Castle.

Adults (16-59 yrs) £17.00,
Child (5-15 yrs) £10.20,
Concession (60 yrs+ and unemployed).

Museum opening hours
Winter (1 October-31 March) 09:30–16:15
Summer (1 April-30 September) 09:30–17:15

Edinburgh Castle opening hours
Winter (1st October-Easter) 09:30-17:00
Summer (Easter-1st October) 09:30-18:00

Christmas and New Year Period
Museum is closed: 24th, 25th, 26th December, and 1st, 2nd January

Parking
Parking is unavailable at the Castle. The nearest city parking zones are located at Castle Terrace and Johnston Terrace.

Parking for visitors with disabilities
There are limited spaces for disabled visitors at the Castle. Please book in advance by telephoning 0131 310 5114.

Access for visitors with disabilities
The Museum is fully wheelchair accessible via the use of a lift. The lift is to be found on the ground floor and will take visitors to the first floor where the museum can be accessed.
